Bubblegum pink

From Prada’s pretty in pink print and Jil Sander’s lamé dress, to all-over at Gucci; whether blush rose or bright magenta, pink has been a strong feature on the Fall/Winter 2016-2017 catwalks. Live la vie en rose this season as a wave of femininity breaks over fashion.

The height of seductive sophistication spotted at shows like Loewe, Dior, Isabel Marant and Lanvin, add a touch of ‘Belle de Jour’ to your winter look next season with vinyl.

Leopard print

Leopard print made its mark on the runway, from fur coats at Prada and Moschino, to a belted dress at Dolce & Gabbana, with Diana Vreeland’s favorite print also popping up at Dior, Prada and Bottega Veneta. Take a trip to the wild side with one of the fiercest trends of around.

The Eighties shoulder

A high-gloss Helmut Newton-style micro mini at Saint Laurent, a deliciously vintage bow at Isabel Marant and Philosophy di Lorenzo Serafini's sexy knits pointed to a look best described at Eighties on steroids. No cold shoulders here.

Midnight blue velvet

Velvet made a comeback in deepest blue at Prada, Ralph Lauren and Vanessa Seward, where we saw slinky gowns spotted with gold constellation effects and Seventies-style tuxedo suits. Paris by night never looked so good.

Also seen at Giorgio Armani, Y/Project, Fendi...

At Céline, Loewe and Valentino, fabrics floated, danced and folded with the movement of the body, with a calm femininity and a clean modernism. Pleated skirts and dresses in mineral beiges, nudes and blush were a lesson in elegant simplicity.

The military jacket

Murmurs of military style have been fanning the creative flames of designers this season. Most notably, we've seen the military jacket revamped with added bows, pompoms and oriental prints.

From cozy capes at Maison Margiela and long coats at Marc Jacobs, to biker jackets at Burberry and Yeezy Season 3, for next winter, timeless sheepskin is back and better than ever.

Couture Red

Designers warmed up winter with reds of all hues. Patent, laquered, matte and satin finishes set the runway on fire at Saint Laurent, Comme des Garçons and Junya Watanabe with a couture approach to form and volume ranging from conceptual to sex siren.

Inter-galactic shine

The common denominator at Balenciaga, Dolce & Gabbana and Michael Kors Collection was high-brilliance finishes that played with the light. A shower of metallic sequins, paillettes and mosaics of tiny mirrors created a futuristic look, or a new take on Barbarella for 2016.

The white T-shirt under the evening dress

As the influence of streetwear becomes ever more evident, fashion's favorite basic is moving in on after-dark dressing, worn under a silky slip dress or a Chanel evening gown. Consider it a lesson in how to modernize a classic for 2016, because fashion never stays still for long.

Whether it's a head to toe look or just a shine-bright accent, lurex is making a dazzling fashion comeback, lighting up the catwalk for Fall/Winter 2016-2017.

The city puffa

For Fall/Winter 2016-2017, the designers have restyled puffa jackets to the extreme with oversized quilted padding and comfy, chic detailing to counter the subzero temperatures.

The sporty jumpsuit

Puffa volume had us ready for winter, when ski style goes hand-in-hand with jersey jumpsuits for a long-line silhouette.

The evening satin

In a nod to lingerie as daywear, retro slinky satin dresses were all over the runways, as fluid lines highlighted the curves of the body beneath.

The bright fur

After a Summer season grounded in 1990s minimalism, winter is joyfully maximalist, with conceptual fabric mash-ups. Fendi's Cruellas on acid, Dsquared2's city samurais and Chloé's boho woolen layers showed that more is more.De gauche à droite

Ballet school

For Winter 2016, we're falling in love all over again with graceful silhouettes in nude and blush, in irresistibly light fabrics that are ready to dance in the lightest breath of air. Contemporary ballet girls go for long lengths, satin finishes, pleats and ruffles.

Pie-crust collars, leg-of-mutton sleeves and puffed shoulders blended with lace accents in contrasting tones of grey, ivory and black for turn-of-the-century Victorian style brought back to date with a dash of eccentricity.

The new-gen corset

Silhouettes are structured with leather and metal bustiers this season. Futuristic, tribal or more erotic, a classically feminine piece was twisted at Loewe, Louis Vuitton and Alexander McQueen.

The miltary knit

Cozy jumpers at Dsquared², distressed knits at Yeezy and ultra-long dresses at Rag & Bone, khaki knits were out in force, signaling the return of military chic.

The biker jacket revisited

Etched with flowers at Etro, punked-up with vintage jewelry at Alexander McQueen at studded with a constellation of diamanté at Saint Laurent, the biker jacket appeared this season in a mash-up of gender-bending styles. Still bad-ass but softened with feminine details.

 The Prince of Wales check

A recurrence of stripes and checks in omnipresent beige called to mind the stiff world of the aristocracy as the contrasting lines of the English royal family's go-to print set the tone for Fall/Winter2016/2017.
